Xcursion is the hardier sibling of our breakthrough trail running/hiking TerraFlex. A fully waterproof hightop with our lugged FeelTrue® sole for awesome traction and an embedded TrailFoam layer for extra protection and comfort, Xcursion is still flexible enough for natural movement, and so lightweight (each M9 boot is just 12.9 oz) you might wake up in your tent and realize you never took them off.

These are form fitting, tough, reliable, ergonomic for trail hiking shoes. Their triangular lugged soles bite into soft earth, providing stable traction. Their toe box secures toe splay. When new, they may friction bind over the instep until mesh fabric lace plate stretches over the forefoot. The sole lugs are self cleaning & the rubber is similar to rock climbing rubber. These are not for urban concrete, the lugs are designed for soft earth traction. They appear rugged & boot-like but are durable wet weather trail shoes. More of a hard soled sneaker than hiker boot as they are light & agile. Barefoot becomes more of stabilized platform. Still, very comfy, protective, assuring, agile. Worth investigating for durability.
[Keep in mind these are new & this Review will evolve along with them]... Presently due to design: The only con is how the lower lace support panel rubs coarse tough mesh fabric friction over the upper instep. This may soften over time... Regarding pro performance: Looks like a boot, grips like a lightweight ergonomic shoe tank, ~ideal for soft terrain weather. This shoe size fits securely, its firm, thick toe box guards well & narly traction pyramids reliably bite into the earth each step. Its solid sole responds similar to rock climbing rubber but not stable on urban flat surfaces from its mud shearing studs & easily discards dried mud by sole-slapping debri off its' wide studded design. Sole is not like pliable barefoot, as it's more of an impressively protective, ergonomically secure, pretty comfy, hiking/trail shoe.
